Domaine Bonnaud - Pineau & Cognac

Our Pineaux des Charentes

It all starts with the planting of young vines which, subsequently, will be able to start producing from the 3rd year of planting.

This is how we can start the grape harvest, then the selection of the harvest by choosing the sweetest grape must.

After placing this must in a vat, we add cognac. A lot of stirring and mixing will be necessary for several days to make a perfect blend.

Following this work, we rack the pineau and place it in oak barrels. This is the beginning of the aging process.

Our Pineaux des Charentes are prepared to be sold differently depending on their blending, years of aging and the grape varieties used.

Our White Pineaux are produced from the “Ugni-blanc” grape variety.

Our Rosé Pineaux are produced from the “Merlot” grape variety.

Our young Pineaux are aged for about 5 years.

Our old Pineaux are aged between 15 and 20 years.
